Nevado Ojos del Salado ("snowy eyes of the salty river") is the highest volcano on earth at 6,891 m (22,608 ft), geologically a stratovolcano located in the Andes on the Argentina-Chile border. This is also the second highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere and the highest in Chile.

Here is a list with the highest lakes on earth. The source of the data collected is based on offical government databases like the USGS, mountaineering sites, and data collected and sent by climbers who visited the following lakes.

To qualify the lake must have liquid water, frozen glaciers or lava lakes don't qualiy to be included in the following list.
 

The crater lake named Lake Licancabur is located in Chile at 5916 m (19,409 ft) on the summit of Licancabur Volcano, in the the Antofagasta Region, of the Segunda Región, Province of El Loa.
