1. How do I sign up?

You have to provide just a Username and a valid e-mail address to get the password. Also, you have to provide your real name, date of birth, gender, city and country of origin.

2. How do I keep my personal info private since I don't wish to display it publicly?
  1. Check that you are logged in and click in the My account option in the left bar.
  2. Once you are in your account profile section click in the Edit button, above your profile info.
  3. When the edit profile page opens, click the Personal Info option above, and check or uncheck the boxes Do not display xx publicly located under each option you want to keep private or not.
  4. Press the Submit button below and that's it.
3. How can I add an avatar to my user profile?
  1. Check that you are logged in and click in the My account option in the left bar.
  2. Once you are in your account profile section click in the Edit button, above your profile info.
  3. When the edit profile page opens, go to the Upload picture option and submit an image. Remember the maximum dimensions allowed for avatars are 85x85 and the maximum size is 10 kB.
  4. If you don't wish to upload a picture and just use one of the images provided by YouBioIt.com, just select one of the icons available.
  5. Press the Submit button below and that's it.
4. How do I allow other users to contact me via a personal contact form?
  1. Check that you are logged in and click in the My account option in the left bar.
  2. Once you are in your account profile section click in the Edit button, above your profile info.
  3. When the edit profile page opens, go to the Contact settings group box below and check the Personal contact form box.
  4. Press the Submit button below and that's it.
5. How do I change my Password?
  1. Check that you are logged in and click in the My account option in the left bar.
  2. Once you are in your account profile section click in the Edit button, above your profile info.
  3. When the edit profile page opens, go to the Account information group box and fill the Password and Confirm Password fields with a new password.
  4. Press the Submit button below and that's it.
6. How do I change my local time so as dates and times throughout the site will be displayed using this time zone?
  1. Check that you are logged in and click in the My account option in the left bar.
  2. Once you are in your account profile section click in the Edit button, above your profile info.
  3. When the edit profile page opens, go to the Locale settings group box and select your desired local time.
  4. Press the Submit button below and that's it.
7. How do I report an error?

If you get an error message of any kind please contact us, with a description of the error message you received.

8. How does the points system work?

Each time you add a biographical, fictional or "Show What You Do" article you get 10 points that will be added in your user profile section.

9. What kind of benefits do I get from the points system?

Besides the fact of being promoted to the top users charts as a major contributor of the community; the 50 users with most points accumulated get the chance to have, under the consideration of the site's managers, any of their articles announced by the YouBioIt.com site-wide banners system. Eventually more benefits can be added to the main contributors.

Please remember also that submitting empty or meaningless articles is considered as a violation to the terms, also if you are not sure about the reliability of some data or detail please avoid adding it. All the information you submit must be truthful and accurate. Articles are monitored periodically by the staff of YouBioIt.com or reported by other users and if it's found wrong, improper, offensive or violates any of the terms and conditions of YouBioIt.com, it might be edited or even deleted.

10. How do I check my points?

You can check how many points you have so far by checking the My points section, just press that option in your left bar; once there you can see a detailed table with all the info you're looking for about your accumulated points. If you check your account profile you may see a short list with the points accumulated so far.

11. How do I check the top users by points table?

Just click the Users by points option in the left bar.

12. How do I report a wrong article or one which could be considered as improper, offensive or violates any of the terms?

Please contact us, with a clear report about that article.

13. How do I upload an article or a photo gallery?

Please check the users guide, for a detailed tutorial on how to upload articles and photo galleries.

14. Is YouBioIt.com free of charge?

Of course it is, you have access to all the features of YouBioIt.com for free. Since this community is supported by advertising everything you see or do here is for free.

15. What are the benefits of having friend users?

Currently the most important benefit is the possibility of publishing private articles, only visible to friends. Of course, those private articles have less chances of becoming popular due to their restricted accessibility compared to unrestricted ones; however if your intention is to build a private group or community or you don't want to share your articles with everyone, but just a selected group, this system is what you are looking for. Eventually more benefits might be added.

16. What are the mug shots for?

Each registered member has the right to take mug shots directly from their browsers. It's pretty easy, you just need a webcam of course and the rest is done by YouBioIt for you.
